The provisioning request editor has added support for the
future release of the Identity Manager 3.5 workflow engine. These new features
are available only if the Identity Vault is version 3.5.
Three new check boxes control new features of the Identity Manager 3.5 workflow engine.
If checked, only the initiator of the flow can see the status of the flow. If not checked, either the annotator or the recipient can see the status of the flow. If checked, the workflow engine will generate user friendly comments into the flow as the flow progresses. If checked, the workflow engine will set the status of a workflow to approved, even if no provisioning activities are present. Previous versions of the engine set the status of the workflow to approved only if an entitlement or entity activity was executed. |
This new activity type affords the designer control of the final status of the
flow, either "approved" or "denied." In previous releases,
the flow status was set to "approved" only if an entitlement or entity
activity was executed.
This new activity type allows the designer a way to reach out to external data
sources for decision support, or any other purpose. This is accomplished by
utilizing the Novell Integration Manager product to call out to SOA Web Services
and bring the resulting data back into the workflow.
Custom Javascript are now allowed on the forms to allow the designer to customize behavior of the forms. One has options to
import or include script libraries, and to call them from within field events. These events are used to populate data on the
forms, allow for cross field validation, and more.
A security feature, the designer can now tag forms with digital
signature required, where the form cannot be submitted without digitally signing
the form. The digital signature can be provided by smart cards or biometric
readers.
A basic upgrade in approval activity allows the designer to have different intervals for escalation levels, as well as different
email notification messages based upon where the workflow is in the escalation process.
