The information in this Readme pertains to the Post ZENworks 11 SP4 Update Prerequisites.
The Post 11SP4 Update Prereq enables support for downloading ZENworks updates from the NCC server and has fixes for zenloader to enable the deployment of future ZENworks 11.4.x updates. Hence, it is a mandatory update that is required for all future ZENworks 11.4.x releases. For more information, see TID 7016896.
This update is applicable only to Primary Servers running ZENworks 11 SP4.
Read these instructions carefully, they are different from those for any previous version of ZENworks.
Ensure that the servers are updated to ZENworks 11 SP4. For more information, see TID 7016896.
Download ZCM_11_4_Post_11SP4_Update_Prereq.zip.
Copy the zip file to one of the ZENworks servers in the zone. (If the system update is configured to use a “Dedicated System Update Server”, use the same server to import). Do not unzip the file.
For example:
Linux: Copy the zip file to /tmp
Windows: Copy the zip file to %ZENWORKS_HOME%
Using the command prompt on the ZENworks server where you copied the zip file in step 1, run the zman sui [path to zip file] command.
For details, run the zman sui --help command.
For example:
Windows:
zman sui "C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\ZCM_11_4_Post_11SP4_Update_Prereq.zip"
Linux: zman sui /tmp/ZCM_11_4_Post_11SP4_Update_Prereq.zip
The zman sui command should report: The update(s) contained in "[path to file]" ZCM_11_4_Post_11SP4_Update_Prereq.zip will begin importing shortly. You may use ZCC to track the status of your import.
In ZENworks Control Center, navigate to Configuration > System Updates and monitor the status of Post 11SP4 Update Prereq until it shows Downloaded.
After the Update is imported, deploy it to all the Primary Servers.
You can deploy Post 11SP4 Update Prereq to any Primary Server running ZENworks 11 SP4.
Deploying this update to Primary Servers will also rebuild the agent deployment packages. For deployment guidelines, see Deploying Updates, in the ZENworks 11 SP4 documentation.
When deploying to a Windows server, even after a reboot, ZENworks Control Center shows the deployment status staying at the same percentage for a long time, check the system-update log. If the log shows the deployment as100%, refresh the agent on the server.
Replication Status of this update cannot be viewed in ZENworks Control Center.
Workaround: After you update the Primary Server you can view the status from that server. The Replication status is displayed as 0% for content Satellite Servers. Hence, ignore the Replication Status.
