Novell Announces Departure of Kanwal Rekhi from Board of Directors
OREM, UT -- September 1, 1995 -- Novell, Inc.
(NASDAQ:NOVL) today announced the resignation of Kanwal S. Rekhi
from the company's board of directors. The board accepted Rekhi's
resignation at its regularly scheduled meeting on August 17, 1995. Rekhi,
who retired from full-time responsibilities as Novell executive vice
president in January, is leaving the board to pursue a variety of other
interests.
Rekhi had served on the board of directors since joining Novell in
1989 through its merger with Excelan, Inc, where he was a co-founder,
president and CEO. At Novell he helped build NetWare's momentum as
the world's leading network operating system. He also led Novell's
expansion into internetworking and network management technologies.
"Kanwal's leadership has been instrumental in moving Novell
beyond its PC networking origins to encompass the world of
heterogenous networks, UNIX Systems, and the Internet," said Robert J.
Frankenberg, Novell chairman and CEO. "He made enormous
contributions in preparing Novell to lead the move to pervasive computing
as networks become easier to use and extend to new devices and
users."
