When you upgrade from your previous release of Fortefi* to Novell Privileged User Manager, some packages have dependencies built in; therefore they do not appear as updates until a particular package has already been deployed to your framework.
To upgrade, complete the following tasks:
Create a directory such as framework on the Framework Manager machine.
This directory is called framework in the rest of these instructions.
Copy the novell-npum-packages-2.2.0.tar.gz from the Package Manager directory on the CD to Framework Manager machine.
Extract the file to the framework directory.
For UNIX* and Linux platforms, use the following commands:
gunzip novell-npum-packages-2.2.0.tar.gz
tar -xvf novell-npum-packages-2.2.0.tar
For Windows platforms, use WinZip to extract the file.
Use the following command to publish the packages to the Package Manager.
Replace <admin> with the name of your admin user.
For Linux and UNIX platforms:
/opt/novell/npum/sbin/unifi -u <admin> distrib publish -d framework
For Windows platforms:
c:\Program Files\novell\npum\bin\unifi -u <admin> distrib publish -d framework
When prompted, enter the password for the admin user.
(Optional) To view available packages, log in to the Framework Manager, then click
.Delete the framework directory.
After the 2.2 packages have been manually imported to the Package Manager, they appear along with any existing 2.1.x packages already in the repository. When you run the update process from the Hosts console, the 2.2 packages appear as updates.
Log in to the Framework Manager.
Click
.To update a domain, select the domain, then click
.To update an individual host, select the host, then click
.All packages have a dependency on the 2.2 Framework patch being deployed before they appear as updates.

The error message is caused by the following line in the /etc/ksh.kshrc file:
case "`/bin/ls --color=never -l /proc/$$/exe`" in
On both SLED and SLES, open the /etc/ksh.kshrc file and change the line to the following:
