4.2 Installing the Messenger Client from the CD

If necessary, you can install the Messenger client from the Novell GroupWise Messenger for NetWare/Win CD or the Novell GroupWise Messenger for Linux CD.

For the Windows Client

  1. At a Windows workstation, browse to the /client/win32 directory on the Novell GroupWise Messenger for NetWare/Win CD.

  2. Run setup.exe to install the Windows Messenger client.

For the Linux Cross-Platform Client

  1. At a Linux workstation, change to the /client/xplat/linux directory on the Novell GroupWise Messenger for Linux CD.

  2. Run nvlmsgr.bin to install the Linux Messenger client.

    sh ./nvlmsgr.bin

For the Macintosh Cross-Platform Client

  1. At a Macintosh workstation, browse to the /client/xplat/mac directory on the Novell GroupWise Messenger for Linux CD.

  2. Run nvlmsgr.zip to install the Macintosh Messenger client.
