Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare

Novell® eDirectory™ 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare® is available for download as an ISO image. After you download the ISO file and burn the ISO image to CD, an exact duplicate of the original eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare CD is created. Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare cannot be installed directly from the electronic ISO file. A CD image of the file MUST be created first. Create the installation CD according to the instructions for your CD imaging software.

The following table lists the downloadable image name, MD5 checksums, and approximate file size. Use this table to validate that your downloaded image is correct.

Download Instructions

  1. On the Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare Downloads page, click the Download button next to edir_873_ir3_nw.iso.
  2. Follow the onscreen prompts to download the ISO file to a directory on your machine.
  3. Burn an eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 Overlay for NetWare installation CD from the ISO image.

Note: Do not burn the ISO file to CD. Burn the contents of the ISO file (the ISO image) to CD.

Installing Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 IR3 for NetWare Overlay

  1. At the server console, enter nwconfig.nlm.
  2. Select Product Options > Install a Product Not Listed.
  3. Press F3 (F4 if you're using RCONSOLE), mount the CD as a volume, then enter volume_name:NW (for example, edir_873_ir3_nw:NW).
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts concerning license agreements, the Readme file, and tips.
  5. Enter the administrator’s login name (for example, Admin.VMP) and password.
  6. In the LDAP Configuration screen, specify which LDAP ports to use, then click Next.
  7. Select the NMAS™ login methods you want to install, then click Next.
  8. Select a language for the installation, then click Next.
  9. Select the ConsoleOne® components you want to install, then click Next.
  10. Click Finish to start the eDirectory installation.
  11. To complete the installation, remove any diskettes or CDs when prompted, then click Yes to restart the server.
