The compare functionality has been improved to allow reconcilation of objects
and attributes contained in the Designer project or eDirectory. The compare feature
is available in Live Operations submenu of any Driver Set, Driver, Channel or
Policy object context menu. A new section in the upper right corner of the compare
dialog allows the user to view the status of the selected object or attribute as well
as to define how the selected item should be reconciled.
The compare status specifies whether or not the Designer and eDirectory object or
attribute is equal. The following table describes the different compare status states
as well as the meaning of overlay images used in the object and attribute list.
Compare Status | Description |
---|---|
Equal | The selected attribute value or all attributes of the selected object are the same in eDirectory and Designer |
Unequal | The value of the selected attribute or one or more attributes of the selected object are different in eDirectory and Designer |
Not Deployed | The selected object or the object containing the selected attribute is not deployed to eDirectory |
Not Imported | The selected object or object containing the selected attribute does not exist in Designer |
An overlay image displayed in the object and attribute tree used to identify objects or attributes that will be reconciled |
This release of Designer allows you to import or deploy
configuration attributes of a Driver Set or Driver without importing
or deploying any child objects. For example if you wanted to
change the start option of a driver but did not want to deploy
changes to policies contained by the driver you would deploy only the
driver configuration.
The new feature is available from the context menu of a Driver Set or Driver
within the Live Operations submenu.
The following tables specify the attributes of a Driver Set and
Driver that are imported or deployed with this feature.
Driver Set Attributes | ||
---|---|---|
Java Trace File | DSTrace Level | Java Debug Port |
Log Limit | Trace Size Limit | XSL Trace Level |
Log Events | Configuration Values |
Driver Attributes | ||
---|---|---|
Driver Filter | Manifest | Java Module |
Native Module | Driver Image | Driver Password |
Trace Name | Trace File | Trace Size Limit |
DSTrace Level | Driver Log Level | Log Events |
Log Limit | Cache Limit | Start Option |
Shim Auth ID | Shim Auth Server | Shim Auth Password |
Configuration Values | Shim Config Info | Named Passwords |
A new option available from the context menu of a Probject or Domain allows the user to import a Driver Set and create the Identity Vault at the same time.
Email templates are now imported when importing an Identity Vault from a Project or Domain as well as when creating a new project by importing from an Identity Vault.
A new preference on the Import/Deploy preference page allows the summary dialog to be turned off for either an import or deploy. The import preference is labeled "Show the summary dialog prior to performing an import". The deploy preference is labeled "Show the summary dialog prior to performing a deployment".
